Over 100 suspects were arrested for various crimes over the weekend.
“Ekurhuleni North Cluster’s stations, including Kempton Park, Tembisa, Ivory Park and Edenvale, were involved in crime prevention operations that saw the arrest of 110 suspects in various areas,” said Capt Jethro Mtshali, spokesperson for Kempton Park SAPS.
The suspects were arrested for various crimes, including driving under the influence of alcohol, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, domestic violence, malicious damage to property, house break-in, possession of drugs, possession of suspected stolen goods and shoplifting.
“Four of the suspects were arrested in Ivory Park for alleged statutory rape,” said Mtshali.
“Maj Gen Vincent Leshabane, cluster commander for Ekurhuleni North, commended the officers involved in the operations for ensuring the communities in the cluster are safe.”
