UPDATE: Water to some Kempton suburbs still not restored

Water tankers will be dispatched to the areas

Teams fixing the water leak in Rhodesfield are “experiencing challenges”.

Water to the affected areas will only be restored around noon today (Thursday), said ward councillor Jaco Terblanche.

He received a message from the water department early this morning. Water tankers will be dispatched to the area.

Residents across Kempton Park will be without water tonight (August 22) as Ekurhuleni Municipality addresses a leaking pipe at the Albatross and Gladiator intersection in Rhodesfield.

The pipe has been leaking water since last week.

The estimated shutdown time is from 8pm tonight to 2am tomorrow morning. Areas that will be affected are Kempton Park CBD, Glen Marais, Aston Manor, Allen Grove and Bredell.

No water tanker will be arranged, since [the interruption] is at night.
