Cresslawn family left destitute after early morning house fire

Ward councillor requests community to help with essential donations

A Cresslawn family has been left destitute after a fire gutted their home in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Ward councillor Simon Lapping has jumped in to raise some necessities for the Sycamore Street family.

“Nine children are affected, ranging from a six-month-old baby to a 17-year-old teenager. We appeal for nappies, baby clothes, adult and children’s clothes, bedding and non-perishable foods,” he said.

Lapping is prepared to pick up donations. He can be reached on 078 350 5063.
