A Norkem Park resident was surprised to find his stolen microwave and vacuum cleaner already waiting for him at Norkem Park SAPS when he visited the station on Sunday to open a case of theft.
“Sector vehicle members were patrolling the Norkem Park area at around 8am when they arrested a suspect (21) for possession of stolen goods,” Capt Lesibana Molokomme, spokesperson for the station, told Express.
According to him, the suspect was spotted with a microwave at the corner of Tortelduif and Krokodil streets.
“Further questioning led to the discovery of a vacuum cleaner,” Molokomme added.
As the suspect could not provide proof that the property belonged to him, he was arrested on the spot.
“While police members were opening the case, the owner of the items came into the station to open a case of theft,” Molokomme said. “He was surprised to find that his property was already there.”
