Rabie Ridge SAPS has opened an inquest docket after an unidentified body was found burnt beyond recognition in an open veld next to a stream in Austin View, near Mayibuye, communications officer Captain Mofana Masela said.
The deceased was found burnt to ashes and dumped near the stream.
“Catleheads called the police and pointed them to the area where the body was found. An inquest docket was opened for investigation. Rabie Ridge SAPS are appealing to the public around Mayibuye, Rabie Ridge, Kanana, Phomolong, Klipfontein View, Tembisa and Ivory Park, to assists the police with the identification of the deceased to come forward,” said Captain Masela.
