A 28-year-old man was arrested in the early hours of August 23 at Entsonalanga Section and detained at Tembisa South Police Station.
Tembisa South SAPS communications officer Captain Neldah Sekgobela said members of JMPD were doing their normal duties on the day when they received a tip-off and acted on the information.
They proceeded to the given address.
“On arrival on the scene, they found the suspect and asked permission to search his place. During a search, a handgun, with a filed off serial number and ammunition were found. When questioned about its license, he failed to produce one,” said Sekgobela.
The suspect was taken to Tembisa South SAPS for detention.
