Eight suspects robbed an Edleen car dealership at gunpoint on Wednesday morning, stealing four cars in the process.
Norkem Park SAPS would not release the name of the dealership for fear of the employees’ safety.
According to Capt Lesibana Molokomme, spokesperson for the station, two men entered the dealership at about 10.45am, pretending to be clients.
“Upon approach by the manager, both suspects pointed firearms at him and took him to his office where they tied him up,” Molokomme told Express.
The suspects then entered an office, where they found a male and female employee. They were also tied up and placed with the first victim, where a suspect guarded them.
“The six other suspects entered the dealership, with a car cleaner who was also tied up,” Molokomme added. “They demanded the car keys of all the cars on the premises.”
According to Molokomme, they drove off in a white XF Jaguar (no registration number), a white Ford Focus (CS 01YL GP), a silver Ford Ranger (FSZ 974 FS), a silver Audi A3 (FH 99DG GP) and a silver Kia Cerato (BW 70 BL GP).
Four cellphones, two wedding rings and an undisclosed amount of money were also taken.
The police are urging anyone with information about the whereabouts of the cars or suspects to contact their nearest police station or Norkem Park SAPS on 011 391 1814/5.
