Egyptian National Mahmond Khaled Abolelfatah Ahmed (29) was found dumped in a stream at Greenfield Dam in Esselen Park next to Norkem Park.
On October 9 at about 6.30pm, the police received a complaint of a male person who was seen by members of the community being dumped in Greenfield Dam.
According to the Tembisa South SAPS communications officer, Captain Neldah Sekgobela, a search was conducted with Rescue team members.
“The body was later found on the scene. The victim is an Egyptian national who was reported missing on October 8 at Rabie Ridge SAPS. It is alleged the deceased received a call on Monday from one of his customers in Tembisa.
Thereafter he told his family members he was going to collect money from the customer. He never returned. He was then reported missing,” said Captain Sekgobela.
Sekgobela added the deceased’s head was found bound in cellophane tape.
“His hands were also bound behind his back with cellophane tape, and his legs were also bound with a chain. The victim had several stab wounds on his neck. All role players attended the scene,” said Sekgobela.
Sekgobela said the victim’s body was taken to Germiston mortuary.

Meanwhile, the Rabie Ridge SAPS communications officer, Captain Mofana Masela, said the Crime Prevention Unit was conducting a stop-and-search when they received a complaint of a stolen motor vehicle in Rabie Ridge Policing Precinct on October 10 at around 3pm.
“The police came across a suspicious-looking Toyota Conquest with three occupants, they gave a chase and requested backup. Social Crime Prevention came to assist. They managed to arrest the three suspects in the Toyota Conquest. The three suspects have already changed the original registration of the vehicle to the one for Eastern Cape so it becomes difficult to trace the car,” added Masela.
Masela said when the police were interrogating the suspects, they confessed they had kidnapped the Egyptian national who was reported missing at Rabie Ridge Police Station.
“The victim was found dumped in a stream in Esselen Park. He was stabbed with a sharp instrument in the neck and seriously assaulted. The suspects further confessed the victim came to Birch Acres on Monday during the day to collect the money owed to him by the mother of one of the suspects for pots he had credited her. He was told to come later when the mother had returned in the evening. He was then held in the house, assaulted and stabbed to death. They took his body and dumped him at the stream,” explained Masela.
Masela said they also allegedly took the deceased’s R50.
“When the attack of the foreign national happened, the mother was inside the house. A case of possession of stolen vehicle was registered at Rabie Ridge SAPS.
“The three suspects were detained at Rabie Ridge SAPS for possession of stolen motor vehicle belonging to the victim. They were later transferred to Norkem Park SAPS for a case of murder,” said Masela.
