A power outage at Kempton Park Civic Centre on CR Swart Drive has forced the office to temporarily close its doors to the public.
According to Clr Jaco Terblanche, the power has been off since Monday afternoon.
“All [the municipality’s] computers and systems are off, so residents will be unable to make payments.”
Terblanche encouraged residents to pay outstanding bills at Checkers, Pick n Pay or their local post office.
“Residents can email or WhatsApp their proof of payment to me and I will make sure it goes through the right channels,” he added.

According to Terblanche, the matter is being tended to and power will be restored to the office as soon as possible.
