
The City of Ekurhuleni’s City Planning Department will host Municipal Planning Day workshops at various venues to enlighten residents about its role within the metro.
The purpose of the workshops is for the City Planning Department to share with the public its objectives, functions, responsibilities and service procedures.
The public will also have an opportunity to engage directly with city officials about their rights and responsibilities in relation to city planning matters or any issue of concern regarding city planning and how they can partner with the city to create environments and spaces within which they can live, work and play.
Some of the issues they may find answers to are the city’s planning frameworks, land development application processes, illegal use of land, building plan approvals, etc.
The workshops will start at KwaThema Hall on October 15 from noon to 4pm.
The last workshop will be on November 29 at Boksburg Civic Centre hall from 9am to 4pm.
The media and residents are invited as follows:
1. KwaThema and Springs meet at KwaThema Community Hall, Nkosi Street, KwaThema, on October 15 at noon to 4pm and October 16 at 9am to 4pm.
2. Tembisa 1, Tembisa 2 and Phomolong meet at Rabasotho Hall, corner of George Nyanga and Andrew Mapheto drive, Tembisa, on October 17 at noon to 4pm and on October 18 at 9am to 4pm.
3. Kempton Park, Edenvale and Germiston meet at Klopper Park Hall, Erf 123, Kruin Street, Klopperpark, Germiston, on October 20 at 9am to 4pm and on October 21 at 9am to 4pm.
