EFF praises community for standing together
EFF allocates new stands to former tenants.
The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in Ward 133 officially welcomed new members to the community living in John Dube Riverside Section on October 27.
EFF member and chairperson of the sectional committee France Pila said those members of the community were allocated stands in May 2018 and now they have legally connected electricity, running water and flushing toilets.
“Now we want to form a community patrol.
“We are concerned about the DA’s service delivery in the City of Johannesburg municipality,” said Pila. He said Ward 133 is made up of ANC and EFF constituencies.

He claimed that DA mayor Herman Mashaba discriminates against the ward when it comes to service delivery and infrastructure development.
“This event was meant to bring the community together.
“We are now one big family and we encourage the new members of the community to share their problems with us and join hands in fighting corruption,” Pila said.
He challenged Mashaba to come to John Dube Riverside Section and see what the community can achieve when it stands united.
He also encouraged young and unemployed people to engage in arts and cultural activities in order to explore and find answers to their social problems.

A couple who had just joined the community in John Dube Riverside Section, Lindiwe Mnisi and Moris Funane, said they never had a place of their own before. They thanked Pila and his committee for their new home.
“I feel very happy because we have basic needs provided to us.
“We arrived this year and we did not have to fight for the land,” said the mother of four, Mnisi.
She plans to open a spaza shop in her yard because the shops are too far away from the new community members of Ward 133.
“We thank EFF for everything they have done for us. Their efforts are appreciated,” Mnisi said.
