UMehluko Arts Production nurtures talent in Ivory Park
Performing arts is revived among Ivory Park children.
Thabang Maduna works tirelessly to develop and sustain arts in the Ivory Park area.
The art enthusiast established the Ivory Park UMehluko Arts Production in 2017 to keep young people engaged in the performing arts.
He said on October 27 Ivory Park UMehluko Arts Production staged a UMehluko Arts Production Awards 2018 and Miss Royalty 2018 ceremony.
“We are happy that the event was a success and we hope that Ivory Park community can now recognise us to discourage the young artists from giving up. Our vision is to build future stars. Seeing these young artists doing well at school and also in our productions makes us happy,” said Maduna.
He said their main goal is to see themselves in SAs Got Talent.
He said the event on October 27 put a smile on the face of every Ivory Park child who took part.
Groups that participated were Vuka Afrika, New Generations Movement, Thulani The Poet and Kgomotso Malele gave an inspirational motivational talk.
“We thank the Department of Arts and Culture for assisting us with certificates.
“This is our second annual event and we aim to improve it and have better prizes for our participants.
“We want our actors to shine on television screens and one day we want to see our models take part in national pageants,” Maduna said.
