Birchleigh couple decorates home for Christmas to help charity

Locals can visit the home and make donations to a children’s home.

As Christmas-time creeps closer, families across Kempton Park have started to decorate their homes for the festive season.

One such a family is Craig and Nicole Gammage from Pierneef Street in Birchleigh.

“My wife and I have spent the last six years building our light collection to showcase a Christmas-light spectacular,” Craig said.

Together with their neighbours, the couple has opened their beautiful street to the public, in a hope that locals will visit to see the lights and bring donations for a local children’s home.

“Christmas is about the children, so entrance is only a happy Christmas spirit and a gift for a child,” Craig added.

“Toys, blankets, non-perishable food items and basically anything that we can donate to a home is welcome.”

The Gammages hope to fill trucks full of items to donate.

“The road will be closed to allow us to welcome the community. So, bring along a cooler box and camp chairs and enjoy the festivities,” their invitation read.

Locals can join them on November 16 between 7.30pm and 9.30pm.
