Thanks to a joint operation by CPF groups across Kempton Park, four suspects believed to be involved in multiple house break-ins, robberies and attempted hijackings are now off the streets.
“Every time we heard that a white Hyundai Atos was involved in crime, we knew it was them,” Dirk Venter, chairperson of a local CPF, told Kempton Express.
According to Venter, he knows of at least four crimes that took place since August, in which police were looking for the said suspects for their alleged involvement.

Last week Saturday, 10 CPF groups across the city formed a special operations team to try to track the suspects down.
The team consisted of NPSS Control Room, Cobra Security, Investigation NoodRoep24, Sec Pros, SSS Security, Alpha Security, SAPS Reservists, CPF Kempton Park, CPF Brakpan, and AfriForum.
Unfortunately, the suspects could not be tracked down that evening but security members were successful three days later.
“On Tuesday last week at around 10pm, Sec Pros was told someone had spotted the dreaded Atos with the four suspects inside,” Venter explained.

Following a search along Pretoria Road and in the CBD, Sec Pros members finally found the suspects on the corner of CR Swart Drive and Pretoria Road at around 10.40pm.
“Eventually, the members boxed them in and a colonel of Kempton Park SAPS reservists arrived to make the arrests,” Venter, who also tended to the scene, added.
The suspects were found with fake firearms and the vehicle was impounded.
“When communities stand together, criminals don’t stand a chance,” a video made by Sec Pros about the incident concluded.
