Police are looking for epoxy floor ‘conman’

Businessman allegedly defrauds unsuspecting consumer through Facebook.

A Tembisa businessman, Lawrence Khumalo, is being sought by police for allegedly defrauding Dudu Malatsi from Pretoria, promising to fit her house with an epoxy floor.

She said the man introduced himself as Khumalo and his business was called Acer Floor Coatings on Facebook.

She claims she was given a verbal quote for R16 000, of which she transferred 60 per cent via EFT.

She claims from then on Khumalo came up with various excuses and disappeared.

started telling her that his car broke down on his way to her and so the fraudster went on with excuses until he blocked Malatsi’s husband’s phone number and her phone number.

Malatsi was advised to open a case with the police, which she did. The case is being investigated by Const Jabulane Enoch Nkosi.

The Tembisan called Nkosi who confirmed that the case has been opened and appealed to the community of Tembisa to assist police in bringing the alleged fraudster to book.
