New Year’s resolutions: Did Tembisans stick to their goals?

Tembisa residents speak about their goals.

Each year optimists make New Year’s resolutions setting out goals for themselves and hoping to achieve those goals by the end of the year.

The year is almost over and The Tembisan went out to find out if some of the set goals were achieved by Tembisans.

Melta Nemuramba said: “I did not achieve things I planned to do this year. I closed down my shop because my other business was suffering. I left my shop in the wrong hands. People are not honest, not reliable nor do they want to work therefore my employees destroyed my business in 2018. It is tough running more than one business at a time. Next year I want to do community work helping vulnerable children in the society. I hope to cook for children who do not have food in their homes and I hope t

 

Innocent Simango said: “I had goals at the beginning of the year. I wanted to attain self-purification. As a child I grew up with social phobia. I am an introvert and I am still working on breaking away from the phobia. My goal even for next year is to overcome that and purify myself from the fear of closed/public spaces. Pastor Tabane said: “I have achieved some of the things I had planned for 2018. Some did not materialise due to mismanagement of money. Some problems just come up and they need money to solve. Other plans did not materialise because they were not a priority. Goals that were not accomplished in 2018 will be carried through to 2019 and they will become a first priority next year.
