Ministry aims to build virtuous women through Women of Hope

Women’s health was the focal point at Women of Hope’s monthly meeting.

Mental Health, breast cancer awareness and reproductive health were among the topics discussed at the Women of Hope monthly meeting at Norkem Park Scout Hall in October.

Women of Hope is a women’s ministry formed under the Renaissance Church of the Living God which aims to empower women to deal with the day-to-day challenges that hinder them to break free from their past.

“The purpose of the ministry is to renew women’s thinking towards setting themselves free from their past and equipping them with knowledge that will empower them for the future in order to make informed decisions,” said the ministry’s Precious Tsolo.

“We believe that some decisions in life require emotional maturity which is why we also guide women to deal better with emotions.”

Medical practitioner, Lesego Mothibi was the guest speaker at the monthly meeting where she focused on women’s reproductive health and mental health.

Every month a guest speaker is invited to attend the meetings and Lesego Mothibi, a medical practitioner, bio-ethicist, sexual and reproductive health and rights advocate and activist was October’s guest speaker.

Mothibi’s talk focused on women’s reproductive health and mental health; she also educated women about breast, cervical and uterus cancer and other forms of cancer that affect women.

Tsolo told Express: “All women from any background and spheres of life are welcome to attend the monthly meetings. We impart knowledge and skills that help shape women financially, physically, spiritually and emotionally.

“We restore hope and confidence in women and eliminate fear with the hope of building virtuous women who can bring a positive change to our societies.

“Meetings are held every month and from November we will conduct meetings in different locations because of requests from participants who attend.”

Anyone interested in attending the meetings can contact Tsolo on 084 500 2298 or email her on manakedi@gmail.com.
