CNA Glen Acres robbed by five suspects

Shoppers were inside the store during the robbery.

Police are still searching for five suspects, who robbed a store at Glen Acres Shopping Centre at gunpoint last week Thursday.

According to Capt Jethro Mtshali, spokesperson for Kempton Park SAPS, five suspects entered the stationery shop at around 2.30pm.

“They pretended to be shoppers before they held staff at gunpoint and instructed them to open the safe,” Mtshali said.

The suspects managed to get away with an undisclosed amount of cash and several cellphones.

“They left the scene with an unknown mode of transport,” Mtshali added.

Although there were shoppers inside the store during the robbery, no one was injured.

Spokesperson for the centre Gift Ndou said he could not give comment. When Express visited the store this week, a security officer was guarding the entrance.

Police are investigating a case of business robbery. Anyone with information is urged to contact the station at 086 001 0111.
