Norkem Park SAPS nails long-wanted suspects after chase

The suspects realised they had been noticed and jumped into a white Nissan Navara

Four suspects wanted for their alleged involvement in a string of crimes were arrested in Birchleigh on Saturday.

Police made the connection because of the car they drove while committing these crimes.

According to Capt Lesibana Molokomme, spokesperson for Norkem Park SAPS, the four men, aged between 32 and 35, were seen jumping a fence on Koedoe Avenue at around 11am.

“Neighbours saw the suspects and informed the station’s patrollers, ”Molokomme said.

“The suspects realised they had been noticed and jumped into a white Nissan Navara, suspected to be stolen.”

The suspects sped off but were cornered by police on Fanie de Klerk Street in Norkem Park. Police recovered a 9mm pistol, two magazines with live ammunition, pepper spray, handcuffs, a hammer and garden pick.

“These suspects are linked to multiple cases at Norkem Park SAPS, such as house break-ins and robberies,” Molokomme added.

Any residents who think they might have been victims of these alleged criminals are urged to contact Norkem Park SAPS.
