Thanks to concerned flat dwellers on Long Street in Kempton Park CBD, the metro police arrested two suspected drug dealers at the complex on Wednesday morning.
A variety of drugs and cash were confiscated.
Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago, the metro police spokesperson, said officers were conducting an early morning operation in the CBD.
“The metro police were given information by some of the residents at Alta Hof about a room in which two male foreign nationals reside and it was suspected they were dealing in drugs.
“The metro police responded swiftly and in one of the rooms uncovered 32 ziplock bags of crystal methamphetamine, 11 Mandrax tablets, two ziplock bags of Cat and one ziplock bag of LSD, altogether valued at R12 660,” said Kgasago.
Six crack pipes were confiscated as well as cash amounting to R2 580 suspected to be proceeds from the illicit dealings.
The arrested pair, aged 26 and 34, were detained at Kempton Park SAPS on charges of possession and dealing in narcotics.
