A shop owner on Central Avenue was arrested on charges of sexual assault on Monday afternoon.
The suspect was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting his female employee.
“This happened despite the awareness of sexual abuse of females during the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children,” said Const Dipuo Ditshego, deputy spokesperson at Kempton Park SAPS.
“The victim alleges the suspect, who is her boss, has been sexually harassing her by forcing her to touch his private parts. While the suspect was unaware, the victim recorded a video of one of the incidents.”
Ditshego said the victim reported the matter to the police on Monday and supplied the video footage. Police members arrested the suspect the same day the matter was reported.
The suspect, in his late 40s, is detained at Kempton Park SAPS holding cells pending his appearance at Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court.
