Esselen Park woman found after kidnapping and assault ordeal

Blood and bullet holes were found in the woman’s home shortly after her disappearance

A 40-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly kidnapping and assaulting his Esselen Park girlfriend.

She was found in Daveyton with serious injuries across her body, including a broken hand.

The couple went missing on December 10, following an apparent violent fight between them in the woman’s RDP house. Police found blood on the floor and two bullet holes in the roof.

According to Capt Lesibana Molokomme, spokesperson for Norkem Park SAPS, the woman’s brother received a call on December 10 that the alleged fight was taking place.

“Upon the brother’s arrival at the home, the boyfriend refused to open the door,” Molokomme told Express.

When police later entered the house using forced entry, the couple was gone.

“There was blood all over the house and two bullet holes in the roof,” Molokomme added.

A search began and the suspect was found by four Norkem Park detectives at a Kaalfontein taxi rank on Friday morning.

“The suspect took the officer to Daveyton, where he was keeping the victim,” Molokomme said.

“She alleged that her serious injuries were inflicted by her boyfriend.”

A case of kidnapping and domestic violence has been opened against the suspect.
