EMPD Swat team recovers LDV in 30 minutes

The recovered vehicle was taken to the SAPS Van Ryn Deep pound for safekeeping.

A light delivery vehicle taken during a robbery at an Isando company on Thursday morning was recovered in Vosloorus half an hour later.

Responsible for the quick recovery were members of the metro police’s Swat unit.

Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago, metro police spokesperson, said around 5.30am the members received a call for a Hyundai H100 that was stolen during a business robbery in Isando. The Swat members responded swiftly and recovered the stolen vehicle in the parking area of Spruitview Shopping Centre.

The vehicle was found abandoned with its dashboard badly damaged.

The recovered vehicle was taken to the SAPS Van Ryn Deep pound for safekeeping.

In-depth investigations by law enforcement agencies are underway to apprehend the perpetrators.
