Police need help to solve Ackermans robbery

Woman got shot in crossfire while suspects tried to flee.

Ekurhuleni North Cluster SAPS communications officer Capt Neldah Sekgobela is appealing to the Tembisa community to come forward with information that will help police in their investigation.

Sekgobela said on December 22, 2018, two employees were in a shop at Ackermans Glen Acres when four African males came and pointed firearms at them.

“The victims were forced to open the tills and the safe where cellphones are kept. An unknown amount of cash and cellphones were taken.”

While trying to flee, the car guards started to chase the suspects in the parking area.

She said the suspects shot once and the bullet hit an innocent female who was reversing her Nissan NP 200 vehicle.

“She was taken to Tambo Memorial Hospital with a gunshot to the chest.

“Police is busy with investigations and we are appealing to anyone with information regarding the suspects to come forward.”
