Suspect arrested after being found in possession of stolen vehicle

Norkem Park SAPS arrested one suspect on charges of possession of a stolen motor vehicle on Friday.

This comes after sector vehicle members responded to information about a suspected stolen vehicle on Egret Avenue.

“Upon arrival at the house in Birch Acres, officers found a man in the house and asked him to open the garage door,” said Capt Lesibana Molokomme, spokesperson for Norkem Park SAPS.

“Police found the described red Toyota Conquest parked in the garage. After enquiring about the vehicle over the police radio system, it was discovered the vehicle was reported stolen in Tsakane in January.”

Molokomme said the 40-year-old suspect told police he was the one who parked the vehicle in the garage.
