On February 9 a man handed himself over to police following the fatal stabbing of a 48-year-old man and attempted murder of another during a drunken brawl.
Ivory Park SAPS spokesperson Capt Bernard Matimulane said the suspect (26) was brought to the police station by his sister after he allegedly stabbed the deceased and his brother, who were both tenants at his home.
He said after coming back from drinking, the suspect allegedly found the brothers drinking in their room with very loud music.
Matimulane said the suspect apparently argued over the volume with the victims, demanding they turned it down. The brothers were having none of that.
It is alleged the suspect went to fetch a knife and stabbed the two. The deceased was stabbed in the face and died on the scene, while the surviving brother was stabbed in the stomach. He was taken to hospital, said Matimulane.
