Aston Manor residents were met with a hustle and bustle on Concourse Crescent on Monday morning, where maintenance to the pothole-ridden road finally started.
Over the week the road maintenance spread to surrounding streets.
According to worker and Kempton Park resident Anthony Charles (39), the team was excited to start their work at around 7.30am.
“It’s tough work in the heat, but it’s nice to see that residents are happy that the road is being fixed,” Charles told Express on site. “Some people even wave at us.”
Even Lucky Mahao (40), whose job it is to stop cars, was in high spirits. “Hello,” he greeted a driver, with his red flag close by.
Charles said that the team would move across Kempton Park to fix similar roads once the job on Concourse Crescent was complete.
Express reported on the road woes of Concourse Crescent in August last year. According to resident Vincent Blignault at the time, he reported a big hole on the side of the road to the City as early as November 2017.
