The vigilance and bravery of community members led to the arrest of a suspect charged with attempted murder on February 21.
The incident occurred in Bonaero Park.
“It is alleged the suspect stabbed the victim several times in his upper body and tried to hide the victim as he thought he was dead,” said Const Dipuo Ditshego, deputy spokesperson for Kempton Park SAPS.
“Community members saw what was happening and stopped the suspect as he was about to leave the scene. Police were called to the scene and the 46-year-old suspect was arrested.”
Dipuo said the victim sustained serious stab wounds to his upper body and was transported to hospital for treatment.
