Benoni SAPS spokesperson Capt Nomsa Sekle said the men, dressed in courier company uniforms, came to the store with a trolley and box at 9.30am. They requested the employees to open for them as they had a delivery.

“The employees opened the door for them as they were still closed at the time,” said Sekele.  “As they entered the store, they took out firearms and instructed the workers to lie on the floor.”

Sekele said the two men searched the workers, took their cellphones and asked for the safe’s PIN code. The suspects fled the scene with an undisclosed number of cellphones and locked the employees inside the store, taking the keys with them.

No arrests have been made.
