Local law enforcers were deployed to Festival Mall on Thursday evening at around 7.15pm, where an armed robbery was in progress at Pick n Pay.
A spokesperson for Target Security, Pieter Ferreira, believed it to be an opportunistic crime. “The suspects went to a till that was cashing up and they just grabbed the cash and legged it.”

According to Marco Taljaard, a SecPros security member who was on scene, an unknown number of suspects are still as large, as they quickly fled the scene.
Taljaard said at 7.30pm multiple services were still on the scene but were asked by the police to stand down, as the suspects were no longer on the scene.
The police and mall management were not immediately available for comment.
