Three unknown men confronted church congregants and robbed them of their valuables at Lindokuhle West in Ivory Park on February 23.
SAPS communications officer Capt Manyadza Ralidzhivha said on the day a complainant (a 47-year-old pastor) was conducting a service with about 75 people in the congregation.
“Three unknown men entered the church. One of them was armed with a firearm.
“He fired three shots in the air and instructed everyone to lay on the floor. The suspects searched the worshippers and took an unknown quantity of cellphones and cash.
“They took the pastor’s two cellphones and two laptops.
“Police found two cartridges on the scene,” said Ralidzhivha.
He said nobody was injured during the robbery and the suspects wore balaclavas.
