Birch Acres boy (13) left traumatised after early morning hour robbery

The minor was home alone at the time of the incident.

A 13-year-old boy from Birch Acres was left traumatised on March 14 after three armed robbers entered his home at around 2.30am.

According to Capt Lesibana Molokomme, spokesperson for Norkem Park SAPS, the minor was home alone.

“He was sleeping when the three armed men surprised him,” Molokomme told Express.

The suspects demanded cellphones and laptops but there were none in the home. They were, however, able to flee with a plasma TV.

One suspect, aged 26, has been arrested, but his co-conspirators remain at large.

“We appeal to parents not to leave minors alone in their homes as this could lead to possible trauma if they are victimised,” Molokomme told Express.
