Suspect (18) arrested in Chloorkop for allegedly stealing diesel

The suspect was unable to provide proof that the diesel belonged to him.

An 18-year-old suspect was arrested in Chloorkop on Sunday after police found him with 175 litres of suspected stolen diesel.

Taken in account the current diesel price, the amount the suspect was found with is valued at around R2 469.

“The suspect was arrested during a stop-and-search by station crime prevention members at 9pm,” Capt Lesibana Molokomme, spokesperson for Norkem Park SAPS, told Express.

The suspect was unable to provide police with proof that the diesel belonged to him and he was arrested on the spot.

He will face charges of possession of stolen property in Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court.
