Justice for Arwyp security guard after scissor attack

The victim was admitted to the hospital where he received medical attention

Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court sentenced Martin Padi to three years’ imprisonment on April 2 for attacking a security guard.

Padi was arrested on October 25 for assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm that occurred in September.

“The victim, a security officer, was on duty at Arwyp Medical Centre on September 5 when he was attacked by Padi,” said Sgt Dipuo Ditshego, deputy spokesperson for Kempton Park SAPS.

“Padi stabbed the victim in his chest with a pair of scissors.”

The victim was admitted to the hospital where he received medical attention.

“Investigations revealed, on October 5, that Padi was already in the holding cells for a different case and after a marathon trial the 30-year-old was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment,” said Ditshego.

The case was investigated by D/Const Rachel Rampedi.
