Still no water in Van Riebeeck Park after 24 hours

According to a notice sent out by the metro the pipe was damaged by contractors

Sections of Van Riebeeck Park had been without water since Friday afternoon.

Water was supposed to be restored by 2.30pm on Saturday but this did not happen.

Contractors on site were still pumping water from a hole dug at the intersection of De Wiekus Road and Soutpansberg Drive on Saturday afternoon before repairs could start.

According to an earlier post on social media the team’s work was hampered by a thick concrete slab that has to cut through. There are also electrical cables involved as the pipe burst is next to a substation.

Water tankers are available at Pick n Pay on Soutpansberg Drive and at the Spar on De Wiekus Road.
