A liquor store on Commissioner Street was robbed by five armed suspects on Friday evening.
The suspects entered the store and pointed firearms at everyone, including customers. All the suspects were allegedly armed.
According to information the manager was hit on the head and in the face with a firearm when the suspects demanded money.
The manager was locked inside a small office at the store while another employee was held by two suspects in the cold room. The suspects searched customers who were in the store at the time and took some of their belongings as well.
The suspects also took money from the till and over 20 different bottles of expensive whiskey.
After locking the manager in the office, they took the shop keys and panic button and left. The suspects were allegedly using a white VW Polo Vivo.
Express was informed Kempton Park SAPS attended the scene but a case was not opened.
“We don’t have a report of the case on the system,” said Sgt Dipuo Ditshego, deputy spokesperson for Kempton Park SAPS.
