Alleged robber nabbed at Rhodesfield Gautrain Station

Police hope to make a breakthrough as that area is a hot spot.

A 43-year-old suspect was arrested on Friday evening in connection with an armed robbery near Rhodesfield Gautrain Station.

According to Capt Jethro Mtshali, spokesperson for Kempton Park SAPS, police are investigation whether the man could be linked to more robberies at the station.

Mtshali said the man was arrested at around 6.30pm.

“It is alleged the suspect was with his uncle and allegedly robbed a 24-year-old victim of her cellphone and laptop,” said Mtshali.

“While the police were patrolling the area, the victim alerted them and pointed out the running suspect.

“Police are now trying to establish whether the suspect could be linked to a spate of robberies at the station. Police hope to make a breakthrough as that area is a hot spot,” added Mtshali.
