On May 20 Members of Ekurhuleni North District Trio task team arrested two suspects in Chloorkop for a robbery they committed at one of the shops at Tembisa Plaza on April 19.
Tembisa South SAPS communications officer Capt Nelda Sekgobela said the Ekurhuleni North District Trio task team were executing their normal patrol duties around Tembisa when they received a tip-off regarding the suspects who robbed one of the shops at Tembisa Plaza.
“Four unknown suspects approached security guards who were on duty, assaulted them and tied them up with shoe laces before they entered the shop. The suspects took an undisclosed amount of money and cellphones which were in the shop.
“On May 20 members proceeded to the suspects’ address which police got from a tip-off and on arrival, two African males, aged between 35 and 43, were found on the scene at Entsonalanga Section.
“Tembisa South SAPS members asked for permission to search the house and permission was granted.
“While searching, SAPS members found a black 9mm pistol with a magazine and 14 live rounds of ammunition under the pillow,” said Sekgobela.
She said the serial number of the firearm was filed off and six of the cellphones were also found in possession of the suspects.
The two suspects were arrested and taken to Tembisa South SAPS for detention.
