A security officer was killed in what looked like a ‘hit’ in Pomona on Thursday evening.
According to Sgt Dipuo Ditshego, deputy spokesperson for Kempton Park SAPS, the deceased was walking with five of his colleagues on EP Malan Street when they were approached by three armed men,” said Ditshego.
“The three suspects shot at the deceased and fled the scene. The other five were not injured as they ran away. No valuables were taken.”
Police arrived at the scene around 6.30pm and found the security officer with multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body.
“Paramedics declared him dead on the scene. Roughly ten cartridges were found on the scene.
“No arrests have been made and a case of murder is under investigation. We appeal to anyone with information regarding the incident to contact the police on 08600 10111 or SMS the crime line number 32211.
“Information given will be treated with confidentiality,” explained Ditshego.
