A 25-year-old woman was, on June 4, arrested for theft of a television from her boyfriend’s apartment in Matikweni Nkuna section.
Rabasotho SAPS communications officer Capt Manyadza Ralidzhivha said the 33-year-old man alleges that on June 3 he went out and left his girlfriend in the room.
“He returned at about 10pm. He noticed the television was missing. He asked his girlfriend where the television is. She told him while she was cleaning it fell and the screen cracked. She had taken it for repairs in Birch Acres and did not give him the receipt for repairs,” said Ralidzhivha.
“On June 4, he went with her to the place where she alleged she took the TV for repairs. On arrival, the people told him she had never brought his television for repairs. He opened a case of theft at the police. The woman was arrested for the theft,” said Ralidzhivha.
Ralidzhivha said an 18-year-old man was arrested for stealing from his sister in Tsenelong section on June 4.
“The man went to her house and asked for money, which she gave to him. Later he came back and told her he is hungry. She was busy outside, so she told him to go inside and prepare food for himself,” added Ralidzhivha.
“She received a call while he was inside. While busy with the call, she noticed her brother was at the gate. He told her he is going to the corner and will come. She immediately went inside, where she found her purse on top of the bed opened. Her money was stolen.” explained Ralidzhivha.
“She looked for him on the street, but didn’t find him. She went to Mpho section where he stays, but he wasn’t home. She waited for him until he came back. She asked him about the money and he agreed that he had taken the money. She opened a case of theft and he was arrested immediately,” said Ralidzhivha.
Both arrested suspects will appear in Tembisa Magistrate’s Court soon to answer to charges of theft.
