A Norkem Park resident had been arrested by the metro police on Friday following an operation targeting several apartments in the area.
Kobeli Mokheseng, spokesperson for the metro police, said their drug enforcement unit conducted a drug-free operation where apartments in Norkem Park were visited unannounced.
“Officers went into a building on Wewer Street just before midday and the 49-year-old male occupant was found with 17 Ziplock bags of crystal meth, one knotted plastic packet of rock, 23 Ziplock bags with five knotted plastic packets of khat valued at R15 500, and was immediately arrested.
The suspect was escorted to Norkem Park Police Station and charged with possession and dealing in illicit substances.
