Not all suburbs still without power will have electricity by 6pm tonight.
The City of Ekurhuleni announced just before 3pm on Tuesday that they would start phasing in electricity as from 6pm on Tuesday night.
Power will gradually be restored throughout the night, said Mark Wilson, HOD of energy, on site on Tuesday afternoon.
It is not clear which suburbs which are still out will be switched on first. Suburbs still affected are Norkem Park, parts of Birchleigh, Allen Grove, Nimrod Park, Witfontein and Glen Marais.
