Rabie Ridge Crime Prevention Task Team and sector managers were busy with a stop-and-search operation at 8pm when they were approached by a black male alleging he was robbed by two males in an open field near Mayibuye on June 14.
Const Jacob Nhlongo, Rabie Ridge SAPS communications officer, said their members walked into the open field and the complainant pointed out the two males who robbed him to the police.
“A search was conducted and one suspect was found with an Okapi and the other one was found with a 9mm pistol with one live round.
“They were both arrested for armed robbery and possession of an unlicensed firearm. The operation ended in the recovery of two more revolvers and five live ammunition,” added Nhlongo.
