Man allegedly stabs and kills his cousin after drinking spree at Sethokga

Upon gathering information, police went to look for the suspect at his residential premises at Block 1, but found he had already left.

Police are hard on the tail of a 23-year-old suspect who allegedly stabbed and killed his cousin on Sunday night after a drinking spree.

According to the Rabasotho police spokesperson, Capt Manyaza Ralidzhivha, the victim was found lying in the road between Block 2 and Block 3 at Sethokga Hostel.

“It is alleged the suspect, victim and two other friends were on their way home from Block 26, where they had been drinking, when an argument ensued. The suspect then allegedly took out a sharp object and stabbed the deceased,” explained Ralidzhivha.

“The deceased sustained one stab wound in the upper body and was certified dead by paramedics on scene,” said Ralidzhivha.

He went on to state that upon gathering information, police went to look for the suspect at his residential premises at Block 1, but found he had already left.

“Police managed to confiscate his identity document and passport. Both the suspect and the victim are from Mount Frere in the Eastern Cape.

“We would like to appeal to the community to help us track down the suspect. The public should call the Tembisa Police Station on 011 926 2970 or SMS 31122 if they have information,” he said.
