A man was hit on the head with a firearm while being hijacked on Kempton Road on Saturday night.
Kempton Park SAPS found him bleeding in the suspects’ vehicle on Pretoria Road.
“Police were patrolling in the central business district when they noticed a suspicious-looking silver VW Polo following a silver grey Ford Figo on Kempton Road,” said Sgt Dipuo Ditshego, deputy spokesperson for Kempton Park SAPS.

“Community members stopped the officers and told them the Ford Figo was just hijacked and that the victim was with one of the suspects in the VW Polo. Police chased the two vehicles and managed to stop both vehicles on Pretoria Road.”
Ditshego said police also found the firearm used during the hijacking was unlicensed.
Both suspects, aged 23 and 27, were arrested on charges of possession of a hijacked vehicle and possession of an unlicensed firearm and live ammunition.
