Burglar tumbles through ceiling at Festival Mall store

Nothing could have prepared the staff who witnessed a 43-year-old man fall through the ceiling.

Staff at Solo Festival Mall had a rather interesting and surprising welcome to their working day on Monday morning last week.

Just after opening shop and preparing to welcome customers, they were shocked to see a man fall from the store’s ceiling.

“The man just fell on the ground  and the staff apprehended him and called the police,” said Sgt Dipuo Ditshego, deputy spokesperson for Kempton Park SAPS.

Also read:

“Police arrived and arrested the 43-year-old suspect on charges of attempted business burglary. He gained entry to the mall through the roof and we suspect he had been walking in the dark ceiling before he fell into the store.”

Ditshego said nothing was taken from the store as the fall stopped the suspect in his tracks.
