Armed robbery suspects arrested in Tlamatlama Section

They were then instructed to hand over all their belongings

Two armed robbery suspects were arrested in Tlamatlama Section on Saturday night.

According to the police spokesman, Capt Ralidzhivha Manyadza, the suspects allegedly robbed a 28-year-old man of his cellphone, cash and liquor.

“Apparently, the victim was on his way home with his girlfriend at about 11.40pm. They were approached by three men and one of them produced a firearm and pointed it at them.

“They were then instructed to hand over all their belongings. The suspects then fled the scene,” explained Manyadza.

“Fortunately, the victim spotted a police vehicle patrolling in that area and stopped them. He explained what had just happened and the police officers on patrol, constables Phuti Chokoe and Koena Thloka, swiftly reacted and managed to apprehend two of the three suspects.

“They will appear in court soon,” concluded Manyadza.
