Kempton Park swimming pool is one of at least nine City of Ekurhuleni pools which did not open on September 1.
Upgrade work is still in progress and could not be finalised before September 1, said Themba Gadebe, spokesperson for the metro.
No date was given as to when the pool will open.
However, Birchleigh swimming pool is fully operational.
The City has resolved to keep designated community pools open for the upcoming festive season. All pools will be closed December 25 and 26 and January 1. No leave days will be approved for any pool staff during this period.
