Eleven in custody for looting in Moriteng

Police patrolling the area were tipped off by community members

Eleven suspects were arrested for looting a shop on Monday night in Moriteng Section, Tembisa.

According to the police spokesperson, Capt Ralidzhivha Manyadza, two of the 11 suspects were caught in the act, while the other nine were found hiding in the ceiling of the shop.

“Police patrolling the area were tipped off by community members that there was a group of people looting a certain shop.

“Our team swiftly responded and managed to corner the suspects. The owner of the shop had earlier realised that his shop was being attacked and decided to hide in one of the back rooms, fearing for his life,” explained Manyadza.
