Many Kemptonians should prepare themselves for at least another two to three days without electricity.
According to a post on the City of Ekurhuleni website on Saturday evening the prospects are bleak to restore power to those areas affected since Friday morning.
According to the post posted at around 8.30pm on Saturday evening, the City was not able to give an estimated restoration time due to the complexity of the repair work.

The damaged cables are 66kV oil-filled cables. Once the cables have been repaired the oil has to be drained, tested and purified to be within specifications before it could be energised. The whole process, including the testing phase, could take until Tuesday, or longer, the metro said.
